Mr. Victor Muiru is the Head of Local Youth Action, World Food Forum, at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Victor is a youth engagement and strategic partnerships specialist promoting meaningful youth engagement and employment in sustainable agrifood systems.
Currently, he is the Head of Local Youth Action at the World Food Forum (WFF), FAO’s flagship youth platform empowering young people to support the transformation of global agrifood systems. In it, he leads the forum’s locally led approach to youth engagement, empowerment and employment in the agrifood sector.
Previously, Victor served as the Co-chair of the Youth Liaison Group to the UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) mobilising youth voices, priorities and commitments within the global discourse to unleash ambitious action towards ending global hunger.
He has also been the Regional Coordinator for Nourishing Africa (African Food Changemakers), an agri-food hub that provides the ecosystem of support for agri-food entrepreneurs. In it, he was responsible for membership recruitment and engagement, building strategic partnerships and facilitating program implementation in East Africa.
