Dr. Masoud J. M. Al-Marri was born in 01/12/1970. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1990 – 1995 from University of Qatar and M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering Sciences in 1999 – 2001 from University of Florida, USA and Ph.D. in Agricultural & Environmental Sciences in 2016 -02021 from the University of Sousse, Tunisia. Mr. Masoud work experience has included: 1997 – 1999 Environmental Researcher at Environmental Studies Section, The Supreme Council for the Environment & Natural Reserves ,Doha, Qatar; 2002 – 2005 Director , Central Environmental Laboratory, The Supreme Council for the Environment & Natural Reserves Doha, Qatar; 2007 – 2009 General Manager, National Environmental Services & Technologies Doha, Qatar; 2009 – 2012 Director, Biotechnology Centre, Ministry of Environment , Doha, Qatar; 2012 – 2014 Technical Advisor, Food Security, Ministry of Environment, Doha, Qatar; 2014 – 2018 Director, Agricultural Research Department, Ministry of Municipality & Environment, Doha, Qatar; At present Mr. Masoud Al-Marri is an Executive Secretary, Food Security Committee and Director, Food Security Department, Ministry of Municipality & Environment ,Doha, Qatar. In addition, he is the Chairman of Executive board, Islamic Organization for Food Security. In 2024, Dr Masoud Al-Marri was awarded with the distinction of Knight in the Order of Agricultural Merit of the French Republic by his Excellency the French Ambassador.

Professor Walter Leal main research interests are in the fields of sustainable development and climate change, also including aspects of climate change and health. Prof. Walter has the titles of Philosophy Doctor (PhD), Doctor of Science (Sustainability), Doctor of Science (Science and Engineering), Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil), and Doctor of Technology (DTech). Prof. Walter has also been awarded a number of honorary doctorates (DEd, DL) for my works on sustainable development and climate change. Prof. Walter have been active at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change´s (IPCC) 5th and 6th Assessment Report, as a Review Editor and as a Lead Author, respectively. Prof. Walter have served as a member of the Investigation Panel of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), of the Project Compliance Mechanism of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and direct the International Climate Change Information and Research Programme (ICCIRP).
Prof. Walter is a Chartered Biologist (CBiol), European Biologist (EurBiol), Fellow, Society of Biology (FSB), Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (FRGS), Fellow, Linnean Society (FLS) and Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), being fluent in French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.

Jeffrey McDonnell is a University of Saskatchewan Distinguished Professor of Hydrology and Associate Director of the Global Institute for Water Security at the University of Saskatchewan. He is the winner of the 2016 International Hydrology Prize from the International Association of Hydrological, UNESCO and the World Meteorological Organization and 2009 Dalton Medal from the European Geosciences Union. McDonnell is a member of the Royal Society of Canada, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Academia Europaea. He is a fellow of the American Geophysical Union, the Geological Society of America and the Royal Geographical Society. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, among them the Outstanding Achievement Award of the New Zealand Hydrological Society, the Ray K. Linsley Award for Surface Water of the American Institute of Hydrology, the Gordon Warwick Medal of the British Society for Geomorphology and the Scientific and Technological Achievement Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency. He is the former President of the AGU Hydrology Section and author of the book “Navigating an Academic Career: A Brief Guide for PhD Students, Postdocs and Early Career Faculty”.
